Last night for dinner I ate 3 ounces of broccoli, and 2 ounces of shredded chicken.
Brocolli had 33 pesticide residues as follows:
Human Health Effects:
| 3 | — | Known or Probable Carcinogens4 |
| 16 | — | Suspected Hormone Disruptors |
| 6 | — | Neurotoxins |
| 6 | — | Developmental or Reproductive Toxins |
Environmental Effects:
| 9 | — | Honeybee Toxins5 |
My chicken was much lower in pesticides with a score of only 7
Human Health Effects:
| 3 | — | Known or Probable Carcinogens4 |
| 4 | — | Suspected Hormone Disruptors |
| 1 | — | Neurotoxins |
| 2 | — | Developmental or Reproductive Toxins |

Seeing how dangerous broccoli is was very shocking. We have been accustomed to the idea that vegetables are supposed to be healthy and a key part to our food groups. You would assume that it is nothing but healthy. We should do a better job at advertising the difference between regular and organic vegetables to create awareness.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI was shocked just as you were. I am vegetarian so I eat so many veggies on a daily basis and I had no idea what is in the food that I eat. And I do think I am eating healthy with what I consume but with all the pesticides on them it can be so dangerous. But as a consumer I am clueless about this information so it is important that we do create more awareness.
